HARMONY
HARMONY stands as a gorgeous registered paint quarterhorse, 15.3 hands high, and weighing 1200 lbs. Harmony was a broodmare for most of her life, employed to produce foals for profit. She was also a lesson horse, patiently teaching children the art of horseback riding.
Five years ago, at 26 years of age, we took her on, as the owners failing health left them without the necessary resources to provide care for her into retirement. Injuries from lesson horse days caused her lameness in her front right leg & left hind leg. She accepts daily pain relief. She is the Dominate Mare in our Herd of Teachers. She displays her boundary-setting prowess & impeccable herd etiquette training by keeping the herd members, safe, and in harmony. Hence, her name. The horses know their roles, due to Harmony's incredible talent to guide. She teaches children, the importance of good horse care, and leadership as well as softness no matter their size. Still, so many gifts to share! |
